Captain's Report 2019 Season

Losing the toss ... again!

Batting wise, Gaurav has been a welcome addition to the team with 600 runs helping to fill the run gap created by the increased absence of JH this year. Paul, as usual, provided a base for most of our innings with just short of 500 runs.

The bowling attack was again boosted by Gaurav who topped the wickets column with 17, chased closely by Bob with 12. Jamien and Peter were our most economical bowlers going for 4 an over whilst still taking 8 and 6 wickets respectively.

More importantly than the statistics, I think we all, hopefully, enjoyed the games and got the best out of ourselves whilst playing. From my point of view, I enjoyed marshalling you around the field and appreciated the helpful tactical advice given as well as those relating to retirement, recommendations for opticians and other sports I should consider instead of cricket.

Thanks to everyone who helped in getting a team out, all the tea volunteers for our home games and to Bob who made sure we had a ground to play on every home game.
