Mark 'Bomber' Harris 1969-2023

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of our former player and number one supporter, Mark Harris; known to all as 'Bomber'.
Since retiring from the playing side, you always knew that it was almost time for the tea interval when you saw Bomber wandering around the outfield with his radio (for football or cricket commentaries) and his paper. He would then launch into conversation with anyone who was around, especially with Nigel Bunce!
Mark joined The Bois in 1993, having played for Hawridge and Cholesbury, and Chesham. He played his last game in 2008. Every year since, he always promised to make a comeback, but sadly never did.
Bomber was definitely a bowler, never threatening the ranks of the batters or all rounders!
Overall, he took 252 wickets with a career best of 7-40 against Great Gaddesden on 20th August 2000, the same season where he took 48 wickets. On the other hand, he managed 132 runs, with a top score of 16 not out. In addition to this, he took 19 catches in the field.
One of life's characters, Bomber would often be seen outside various coffee shops in Chesham. Cricket teas won't be the same without him.
