Result: LOST by 43 runs

Toss: LMM elected to bat!!

We were originally going to play the Misfits for our first game of the season. Back then, the wickets were far too wet, so the email went like this:

"Also, we have never had the greatest of conditions so early on, so maybe this enables us to find a better time of the summer to play.

At the moment we only have one free Sunday, which is 30th July. Weather should be good."

So, there we are - good weather at the end of July - how wrong we were!

After discussion, in the drizzle, we decided to play a 10 over-per-side game, and then eat the magnificent tea! Back to normal service, in that the Skipper lost the toss, so we bowled first. With tveryone bowling an over, Rudy took two wickets in his over (the second of the innings), with Alex chipping in with the 3rd wicket, Guarav taking the catch. With a couple of retirements, the Misfits finished on 87-4 (Guarav taking the last wicket in the final over).

As the rain increased, batting became pretty impossible, but as the old saying goes - "We've started, so we'll finish." Areeb was the only batter to look comfortable, scoring a classy 18, and with no-one else in double figures, we succumbed to 42 all out in the 9th over.

Then is was tea, in the dry!!
