Having won the toss, Chesham Bois elected to bat. Soho were a little light on numbers, as tends to be the case on bank holiday weekends, but were bolstered by a couple of Chesham players. Luke and Gaurav were first up on the dry and occasionally uneven surface with Gaurav inexplicably getting out for only 7! David Haines, playing in his first game after a long layoff, showed his timing was still there as he made 23. Uma joined Luke with the score on 85 and together pushed the score north of 200. Luke celebrated his promotion to the opening slot by completing yet another 100 and promptly tucked his bat under his arm and retired undefeated. Alex(17) kept Uma company whilst Uma passed the 100 mark. Gaurav, who was now a sub fielder for Soho, looked increasingly concerned as Uma moved ahead of him in the runs total for the 2025 season. In order to mitigate the damage, Gaurav pulled off the catch of the day, sprinting and catching Uma just short of the boundary. Uma, who had given Gaurav a lift to the ground, had made 104 and Gaurav then had to walk home. Cameo not out knocks by Jingesh(6) and Akshay(9) got us up to 283 off only 35 overs.

In reply, Akshay(5-0-20-2) and Jingesh(7-2-29-4) pretty much extinguished any hopes that Soho had of chasing that total. Luke(3-0-15-0) and the super impressive Tanish(4-3-16-2) were next up. Bennett(2-0-12-0) got a couple of overs in with Uma(4-0-23-1) and Gaurav(3-0-23-1) accounting for the final wickets. Soho all out for 143 in the 29^th over but, as ever, another really enjoyable game of cricket with the guys from Soho.
