Bovingdon were unfortunate enough to come up against a pretty handy Bois XI on a nice sunny day. Having won the toss (thankfully), Paul(28) and Gaurav set about building a defendable total. Gaurav again was the backbone of our innings as he was joined by Billy(21), Uma(29) and finally Luke, with a customarily brisk 33 not out, to post 279-4 off our 40 overs. Gaurav ending on 143 not out.
Our reply was led by Samar(8-0-36-1) and Oscar(8-2-39-3) ,who whilst wicketless in their opening spells, didn’t let them get away to the fast start they ideally needed. Areeb(8-1-20-2) and Luke(8-0-28-1) maintained this control as well as removing wickets along the way in their spells. Jitender(4-0-14-0) showed us that we have another handy bowler to call on in future games as Uma(2-0-13-1) and the returning Samar closed their innings with their score on a creditable 207.
A lovely ground, a great bunch of players and an enjoyable game played in great spirit.
