Toss: CB elected to bat

Having won the toss, Chesham Bois elected to bat. Paul(28) was joined by Gaurav who decided that he fancied opening this week and he certainly made a good choice. Paul departed with the score on 73 and Gaurav was joined by Alex(7) and Areeb(25) who was out looking to push the score along. Uma joined Gaurav with the score on 238 in the 30th over with Gaurav eventually out for 154 in the 32nd over. Uma(34) was out with the score on 282 as the tail nudged the score up to 303, the 3rd highest ever score by Chesham Bois, helped by Sachin(10) and Aaryan(8).

In reply, The Misfits set off at a pace and were up with the required rate for most of their innings. Our openers Danish(5-0-40-0) and Aaryan(3-0-41-0) were immediately under pressure. Rajiv(8-0-43-0) and Areeb(8-0-50-0) exerted some control with Areeb taking 2 wickets in 2 balls and removing their key opener who had made 91 by that point. Akshay(3-0-28-0) tried his hand at defending the short side boundary before handing over to Uma. Gaurav had the job of holding the other end down. Gaurav(7-0-62-1) was the more expensive but did remove their last hope batsman for 66. Meanwhile Uma produced the bowling performance of the day, defending the short boundary with by far the most economic bowling with 1 for 17 off 6 overs. We won by 15 runs as The Misfits closed on 288 of their 40 overs.

A good win in a good game of cricket with nearly 600 runs scored and The Misfits played their part in skill and spirit. Both sides were in the game until the last few overs and we managed to tough it out for the win.
