25/06 v Pimlico Strollers (Home)

Updated: Jul 3, 2023

Result: Won by 7 wickets

Toss: PS elected to bat

Having customarily lost the toss and been put into field on another baking hot day, Hussain (7-0-43-2) and Akshay (7-1-32-1) opened our attack and initially kept the scoring under reasonable control. By the time Luke (7-0-37-1) and Areeb (5-0-52-2) came on to bowl they were firmly in their stride and looking to accelerate the scoring rate. Uma (6-0-29-1) exerted a little control on the scoring rate in his spell with Matt and Haider getting a few overs in towards the end. Pimlico closed on a healthy looking 240 for 7 off their 35 overs, with 5 of their wickets being bowled and Luke and Ali pouching the others.

Paul (27) and Alex(2) opened our reply with Alex falling relatively soon bringing Luke to the middle. The wicket was playing quite well but the odd one would keep low as Luke found out as he was bowled for 23. This bought together the dream team (at least in todays game) of Uma and Ali who eased us past the 240 target 2 balls into the 31st over. Uma finished on 82 not out with Ali 87 not out completing a very good win.
