Result: WON by 173 runs
Toss: CB elected to bat
Having lost the toss, Chesham Bois were invited to bat. In the absence of the chairman, Areeb was parachuted into the opening spot and made good use of the chance with 71 off 75 balls. Luke(11) and Alex(10) were victims of the late inswing offered by the new ball before Ollie joined Areeb in a 103 run partnership. To inflict more pain on Chenies bowlers, Gaurav then emptied the spare ball box as he hit 72 off 40 balls, including 5 sixes, in a 111 run partnership with Ollie before Uma chipped in with a relatively leisurely 21 off 16 balls. Ollie was left on 98 not out off just 89 balls. The total, 291-5, Chesham Bois batting at its best.
In the field, Uma put on the captains armband and Chenies never really got going as regular wickets stifled their run rate. Vish(6.1-0-14-2) and Rudy(5-1-17-1) bowled fast and accurate in their opening spell. Danish(4-0-17-1) picked up a wicket in his pacy spell with Ashay(6-0-37-0) luckless at the other end. Not content with scoring most of our runs, Ollie(6-0-19-1) and Areeb(5-0-13-5) picked up most of the wickets as they took the required run rate well into double figures. Vish returned to mop up the last wicket as Chenies were all out for 118 in the 32nd over. A good and well overdue win.
