Toss: CBCC elected to bat (Thankfully on the hottest Sunday of the year Jed got it right!!)

With Chenies losing the toss, leaving the skipper to make the easy decision to bat first given the hot and sunny conditions, last weeks successful opening partnership of Paul and Rajiv strode to the crease. It proved less successful for one half of the opening partnership as Rajiv departed early without troubling the trees as he did so well the week before. Paul, however, settled in and was joined by Alex who was very quickly into his stride. Alex finally departed for 62 with the score on 182 in a 172 run partnership for the second wicket. Paul was next back in the pavilion 16 runs shy of what was looking like a nailed on century with Uma (20) and Gaurav (41) providing some late acceleration leaving Sajid (10 N.O.) and Ollie to face the final deliveries. The final score of 268-5 off 35 overs looked a very handy total.

In reply, Chenies never really got going as some ridiculously good bowling from Ollie (7-1-14-1) and Jamien (7-1-5-3), yes both those figures are correct, as they took regular wickets whilst keeping the run rate at a snails pace. Peter (7-0-25-3) and Sajid (5-1-28-1) kept the flow of wickets going before Rajiv only needed one ball to remove their top scorer to bring their innings to a close on 95 in 26.1 overs.

A good win, and another impeccable fielding display with catches shared by Ollie, Peter, Rajiv and Sajid.
