Result: LOST by 28 runs
Toss: CW elected to bat
Having lost the toss, Chesham Bois were invited to field on a hot sunny day, Haider(8-0-62-0) and Hussain(8-0-20-0) bowled well going for 35 and 7 respectively off the first 6 overs of their opening spells. Uma(7-0-38-2) took an early wicket in his initial spell while Areeb(5-0-45-0) worked away at the other end. Ollie(7-0-52-1) picked up a useful wicket with a couple for Gaurav(6-0-45-2). Probably fair to say our fielding and catching was a little off at times during this one as Chiltern Warriors closed on 275 – 4.
In reply, Uma(7) and Ali(2) fell too some good bowling. Suresh(4) was well caught before Areeb(43) and Gaurav(67) got together taking the score up to 125 before Areeb was out. Sid(10) did his best to knock the ball out of shape before Ollie joined Gaurav in the middle. When Gaurav was out, Hussan(6), Sachin and Haider kept Ollie company before last man Jed did his best not to get out. Ollie was finally out for 77 in the last over having taken the score to a very respectable 247.
A good performance which would have us in the game on most other days but Chiltern Warriors were just a little too good in this one.
