04/08 v The Lee (Home)

Result: WON by 67 runs

Toss: CB elected to bat

Having won the toss, Chesham Bois elected to bat and Paul and JH reunited for the opening partnership. It didn’t go too well as JH edged a rising orange ball behind. Ali(36) picked out square leg nicely and Uma(43) then helped Paul get the score up to 168. Areeb(41) was at the crease as Paul was finally out inadvertently stumped for 97 with the score on 242 as Chesham Bois closed on 257-6 off 40 overs.

In reply The Lee set off at a decent pace looking to keep up with the run rate.  Haider(5-0-22-0) and Rudy(5-0-37-0) opened our attack before JH(4-0-19-2) and Areeb(8-0-26-4) slowed the rate by taking wickets helped by a couple of stunning catches by Ali in his total of 3 catches in the game. Peter(8-0-57-2) and finally Uma(5.2-1-17-2) mopped up the rest of their batsmen with The Lee closing on a spirited 190 all out in the 36th over. A great effort by The Lee and we were certainly made to work for the win and our fielding performance was, and needed to be, pretty tidy.
