Result: Lost by 3 wickets
Toss: CBCC elected to bat
After the euphoria of last week.....
Chesham Bois were the victims of our own wicket again as we lost by 3 wickets to Ebury Strollers. Having won the toss and batted, the wicket was a little lively, seemingly spruced up by the rain we have had recently. Paul departed early to one that climbed off a length and Alex was judged to have feathered one to the keeper for 6. Sachin N (6) dug in at the other end while Gaurav (8) and Uma (4) came and went all too quickly. David (25) starred with the bat as only Ali (11) and Jamien (12) got into double figures and we closed on 95 all out.
The score felt a little light particularly as the wicket was now playing a little lower than before.
Sachin Sawant (4-0-15-0) and Hussain (4-2-21-2) opened our attack with Hussain quickly taking a couple of wickets. Uma (3-0-23-0) and Jamien (3-0-18-1) took care of what proved to be the middle overs before Sachin (3-0-18-1) and Gaurav (2-0-9-2) finished off as Ebury looked to finish the game in a hurry. Ebury were 7 down at the end, another 30 – 50 runs would have made it a bit more challenging.
