Batting first, Paul and Gaurav got us off to a steady start. Paul was the first to depart for 19 with the score on 50, followed closely by Gaurav for 34 with the score at 65. Alex was next up and was briefly joined by Uma before retiring hurt on 22. This brought Ollie and Seb to the crease, and they weren’t to be separated until the score had reached 240. Ollie made a great 69, and Seb made a brilliant 94 not out, with Jitender finishing on 3 not out at the end. Our final score was a very respectable 259 off 40 overs.

Denham are a good side and they can bat. Hrishi (5-0-40-0) and Vaibhav (7-0-46-1) were the first to try and contain and dismiss their batters. Samar (5-0-45-0) and Hrian (3-0-20-0) were next in the firing line. Uma (8-1-37-2) and Jitender (4-0-26-1) exerted some brief control, with Ollie (3-0-19-0) and Gaurav (1-0-17-0) rounding off our overs. Denham ultimately reached their target with 4 overs to spare.

We lost, but it was a good performance overall, apart from a few notable misjudged aerial catches, and a great partnership by Seb and Ollie to get us up to 259.
