Having won the toss, Uma sent our trusty pair of openers, Paul and Gaurav, into bat. One opener proved a little more trusty than the other as, one ball later, Paul made his way back to the pavilion. Alex soon followed as the occasionally uneven bounce struck again with the score on 1 for 2. This bought Ollie to the crease and the record 3^rd wicket partnership of 279 began. They were separated as Gaurav fell for 123 and Ollie continued unbeaten to the end of the innings finishing on 123 not out. Our skipper Uma, in true leadership style, decided he wanted to make Paul feel better by also getting out for a first baller, as Ali (11), Karthik and Haider (5) all fell in pursuit of quick runs at the end. 325-7.

In reply, the Outlaws were always behind the rate. Vaibhav (8-0-34-2) and Sajid (8-0-35-2) not only controlled the run rate, but also removed key wickets along the way. Uma (6-3-3-2 that’s not a typo) , Haider (5-0-21-0), Prakash (2-0-21-0), Karthik (5-1-21-0), Ollie (4-0-19-1) and even Paul (2-0-9-1) rounded out our attack as the Outlaws finished on 163-8. A good way to start the season.
