Having elected to bat, Paul and Gaurav kicked off our innings. On 4, Paul got one that kept a bit low and was followed by Uma(8) who got another decent  inswinging ball 56-2. This bought Ollie to the crease and 109 runs later, Gaurav departed for 67. Abrar was run out for 1 before Seb arrived to see us to the end. Due to the slow over rate and potential late finish, it was decided to curtail our innings with 36 overs gone. This did deny Ollie and Seb the option to kick off at the end but 280-4 seemed a decent score with Ollie and Seb unbeaten on 145 and 42 respectively.

Great Missenden are normally a decent batting unit and so it proved.  Karthik (5-0-59-0) and Abrar (6-2-16-0) opened our attack. Dhimaj (6-1-33-1) and Seb (2-0-14-0) were next into the firing line with Dhimaj removing the opener for 73. After his efforts with the bat, Ollie bowled his 4 overs for 37 runs as  Gaurav (5-0-28-0) and Uma ( 8-1-53-2) completed the attack. Uma assumed responsibility for bowling the last over defending the short leg side boundary. Needing 5 to tie and 6 to win off the last ball, sadly a six was hit to the short leg side boundary. A good game and this time we just came out on the wrong side.

Not our tidiest fielding performance but the outfield is particularly hard and undulating at this time of year.
